The Milky Way as few can see it
The Alentejo is one of the rare places in Europe where 'light pollution' is still minimal and where you can enjoy the beautifull and humbling view of millions of stars.
With 'light pollution' we mean the diffuse light from many sources such as street lighting, neon advertising, car headlights, illumination of buildings, green houses, airports, etc. etc.. In an urban environment it is no longer getting truly dark and most of the stars have become invisible. According to investigators the majority of the world population can no longer see the Milky Way! Generations of children grow up without ever having seen a sky full of stars.
